Have you faced hurdles when installing factory networks?
Challenges in wiring production lines
In the manufacturing realm, where the stable transmission of product data is pivotal for seamless production line operations, factory personnel and quality control staff heavily rely on network connectivity for instructions and operational assistance. Factory designs typically involve intricate cable installations, and once the factory is built, the fixed wiring poses difficulties when expansion is needed.
Numerous interferences on production lines
Factory environments are intricate, with ever-changing positions of testing and transportation equipment, vast workshop areas, and challenging conditions. Elements like cooling towers, microwaves, cordless phones, and various equipment in the expansive factory floor introduce interference. Conventional wireless network devices often fall short in factory settings, encountering issues in extreme temperature conditions that impact product stability and connection speeds. Dusty environments pose risks to wireless signal transmission, necessitating network products to surmount challenges like high temperatures and dust in the production environment.
Opting for Z-COM Wireless Devices
In such scenarios, Z-COM offers purpose-built wireless communication devices for enterprises, ensuring efficient and stable operation adaptable to demanding environments.
Wireless Network Issues in Production Lines
Users reported sporadic disconnections or packet loss after prolonged use, disrupting continuous testing. During production testing, uploading test results from various sites failed, and packet loss issues emerged in both 2G and 5G connections.
How to troubleshoot Abnormal Wireless Network Connections?
Six-point solutions:
(1) Adjust the working mode of the thin Access Point (AP) based on user feedback, switching from centralized forwarding to local forwarding mode. This adjustment prevents bandwidth bottlenecks caused by AP uploading data to the AC before forwarding.
(2) Select appropriate wireless modes and HT Modes based on the characteristics of terminal devices.
(3) Further enable CTS/RTS options and set parameters.
(4) Ensure stable terminal connections by adjusting power and coverage.
(5) Implement speed limiting measures to prevent individual STAs from occupying too much bandwidth.
(6) Maintain the activation of A-MPDU/A-MSDU functions to further improve communication bandwidth efficiency.
Resisting Interference: Achieving the Final Outcome of Setting up Factory Networks
Through on-site collaboration and analysis, unidentified interference sources were pinpointed. Considering the complex on-site environment, Z-COM initiated optimizations from the MAC layer, enhancing the equipment's anti-interference capabilities. An optimized version was provided for customer testing, successfully achieving the desired test results and earning positive feedback and affirmation from the customer.
In situations where Wi-Fi channels may overlap and interfere with each other despite strong signal strength and extensive coverage, network deployment becomes more intricate. Unstable signals and severe interference can significantly impact the user experience. In this case, Z-COM swiftly and efficiently addressed the customer's needs, ensuring outstanding performance and service quality for the product in complex environments. This showcases our excellent technical capabilities and commitment to service excellence. We remain dedicated to researching and applying anti-interference technology to continuously enhance the reliability and efficiency of wireless communication.
