Z-COM Showcases 5G Smart Transportation Project at 2024 IT Month, Enhancing Traffic Safety and Efficiency

[Taipei], [November 14, 2024] Z-COM will participate in this year’s IT Month at the "Smart Nation" exhibit area, presenting the latest advancements in its "5G Smart Transportation Project." Supporting the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ initiative to leverage 5G technology for traffic management, Z-COM’s exhibit aims to improve urban efficiency and public safety. This event, combined with EdTech Taiwan, will run from November 14 to November 17 at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, making it Taiwan’s only exhibition merging information technology and education.

With the theme "Embracing an AI Lifestyle," this exhibition spotlights how AI and 5G can enhance daily life. It covers diverse fields, including AI applications, educational technology, and professional development, working toward a vision of "lifelong learning and enjoying life." The Ministry of Digital Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, along with leading companies, have joined efforts to demonstrate how technology empowers modern life.

Z-COM’s exhibit highlights applications of 5G private network technology, especially in the area of smart transportation. Utilizing AI-driven monitoring, Z-COM’s solutions include pantograph wear and spark detection, foreign object detection at intersections, and train speed optimization recommendations, boosting traffic systems’ real-time response capabilities and enhancing safety. In addition to showcasing technological achievements, Z-COM will also present its successful deployments within the Danhai light rail and urban traffic systems, positioning these technologies as models for future smart city transportation.
