Z-COM to Present at Smart Rail Seminar: Exploring GenAI and 5G Wi-Fi Heterogeneous Network Applications in Light Rail Driver Assistance Systems

[Hsinchu], 9 October 2024 – Z-COM will participate in the 2024 Smart Rail Seminar and Exhibition on October 15, organized by a&s, to explore the integration of smart rail system applications and operational resilience. The seminar, under the guidance of the Bureau of Railways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and co-organized by regional rail operators, will focus on how advanced technologies like 5G and ICT can improve the efficiency and safety of rail systems.

Z-COM will deliver a keynote presentation on October 15 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM. The topic, titled "GenAI + 5G Wi-Fi Heterogeneous Network Applications for Light Rail Driver Assistance Systems" , will be presented by Manager Xu Liang-Shu, who will showcase how Z-COM utilizes Generative AI and 5G NR with Wi-Fi heterogeneous network technologies for real-time information transmission, allowing light rail drivers and control centers to better monitor road conditions, thus enhancing driving efficiency and safety.

In this presentation, Z-COM will highlight the critical technologies from its previous 5G Smart Traffic Project, such as pantograph spark and wear detection, intersection foreign object detection, and how AI-driven automatic learning is used to build precise detection models to ensure safer rail operations. In addition, Z-COM will showcase its AI-generated firewall technology, ensuring data security and privacy throughout the transmission process.

The exhibition will focus on how 5G and AI technologies can strengthen smart applications within rail systems, improve operational efficiency, enhance safety monitoring, and provide a better passenger experience.
