The mW is the unit of milliwatt and dbm is a ten times of logarithm value of milliwatt, they are used to represent the power of signal. Power in dbm = 10×log (Power in milliwatts), for example, convert power in 500mW to dbm unit equals to 10×log(500) ≈ 27dbm. Note: +3dbm means an increase of double power and -3dbm means a decrease of half power in milliwatt.
